Police are surrounding the Richmond City Jail and refusing to let anyone (even attorneys) enter. Several arrested protestors have already been booked into the jail, but the jail will not tell us any information over the phone or let us enter the facility. #RVA

We spoke to someone in the jail’s intake department—one person has been given an unsecured bond (which means they should be released tonight), but jail claimed to not have updates on the other 14 names we gave them, despite confirmation that many of them have been booked in #RVA

Richmond City Jail Bookings and Intake is not answering the phone. We have names for 42 protestors who were arrested tonight, but are unable to receive updates on their bond status if the jail will not talk to us. This is a total information blackout. #RVA

An attorney we are in touch with is reporting they are refusing his request to speak to the magistrate. Richmond Jail told him they are not processing anyone yet. #RVA
