After a #BlackLivesMatter rally concluded at NE 36th and N Kelley Avenue, protesters walked to the Oklahoma State Capitol before heading downtown. I'll be uploading several photos from the last two stops of the demonstration today.
Around 5 p.m., the OK State Capitol was filled with hundreds and hundreds of demonstrators. It easily dwarfed the crowd sizes from protests in OKC last night. There was no police presence. Several protestors took turns giving speeches while others rested in the shade.
Not too long after, protestors traveled to the Oklahoma County Jail. Many of the roads around the jail were blocked. Armed police, tactical vehicles and barricades surrounded the correctional facility.
One particular moment stood out, as police took a knee to the applause of protestors.
