Silence is an act of violence. If organisations cannot publicly declare that #BlackLivesMatter , they are complicit. Each have a responsibility to the Black community who visit, who are employed and whose culture is on display in these buildings. Now is the time to be anti-racist.
@V_and_A @britishmuseum @NationalGallery @Tate @NHM_London and many more. We urge you to make a stand of solidarity.
@ltmuseum this act of solidarity is important at a time when transport workers are fearful of their lives. Will you be silent about the loss of Belly Mujinga? The tragedy and unjustice of her death needs to be recognised and amplified.
This also applies to those in the heritage sector whose sites are woven into the history of British colonialism. @nationaltrust @EnglishHeritage @HRP_palaces your silence is violently loud. #BlackLivesMatter
And to the funders @ace_national @HeritageFundUK, will you say #BlackLivesMatter and invest in a sector that is actively anti-racist?
To those in the sector documenting the health inequalities and racist sciences now is the time to stand up and say #BlackLivesMatter @sciencemuseum @ExploreWellcome
