These museums are trying it with these false statements of solidarity. You're not too big to get aired all the way out 🙄
"We only hire Black people to clean, watch our looted objects, and cook food but Black lives matter"
"We silo Black people in education, visitor services, and outreach, the lowest paid and least valued positions, but solidarity"
"When Black people get too uppity we make their working lives hell until they quit or we find a bullshit reason to let them go but power to the people"
"We know Black people are last hired and first fired, especially if you have the nerve to unionize, but we are with you"
"We investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong therefore our museum culture is healthy so we stand with you"
"We routinely weaponize Black workers against each other to bolster our white supremacy but we are here to listen"
"We have no qualms paying Black people 64 cents on the dollar even if they're more skilled and educated than their counterparts but our hearts are heavy"
"We train our security to profile Black visitors and deny entry to✌️those✌️ kind of schools but art is for everyone, we are here for you"
"Nary a Negro can be found among our board or trustees but we are in this together"
"We're 100 years old and have never had a Black person make enough money to be included in our 990 but equality for all"
