Eren & mikasa's relationship isn't all about a romantic bond. It is much deeper & can't be confined to just one kind of love. Their relationship is so complicated that even the two of them had difficulty putting it in a word. So they use the safe word aka family

It's about the central bond of the story. Note how Isayama only put the big question mark on eren & mikasa's bond. In the story of history and memories and slavery & racism & justice he managed to highlight a bond between two people who aren't even together.

I mean the story is pacing fine isn't it? Em doesn't affect the main storyline right so why the hell bring it up time & again in chapters. Eren & Mikasa both thinking of each other when they are vulnerable, in midst of war. Why?

#eremika
This is serious story about war, why you keep bringing up that scarf? Coz it shouldn't have been relevant after 112 huh? If that was the truth then isayama shouldnt have brought it up again especially from eren's pov.

Timeskip Eren is careful & calculative, who hides his emotions well. But in that one moment he became weak exposing himself to Zeke potentially. I mean what is the need for putting such panels when Mikasa will end with your precious boy huh?

#eremika
He should focus on Mikasa and ur boy's relationship not em when eren is gonna die anyways. Instead isayama spends his time making their relationship more complex by every passing moment. In almost every chapter we get an em moment direct or indirect.

It's not about just a love story it's about the bond & what it implies. Mikasa is and has always been eren's savior. And in 126 she realised too what eren was potentially trying to do. With the lengths eren went to make her hate him, it's clear what's really going on.

The only way for Mikasa to both proof their relationship isn't just a bloodline bond and the fact that she loves him & sees through him is by that big confrontation. Mikasa rn is determined, hurt and in anger. Eren have got a storm coming.
