Hey, so Slow Down drops in 15 minutes. I’m really excited for it but I want to address a few things first. Read the thread if it interests you.
The last thing I want to do is take away any (rightful) attention from what’s been going on around the world since the murder of George Floyd. I submitted the song through a distribution company prior to this event, so it’s not something that I can change.
Since the song will be dropping regardless, I want to ensure that, whilst my song is completely unrelated, I’ll be pinning a comment on the lyric video with links to petitions that you all should sign regarding bringing justice to George Floyd’s name.
If any of you feel like there’s something more I can be doing regarding my platform, privilege and how I can be helping the movement, then please do let me know. I want to have an open discussion about this. I love you all. Black Lives Matter.
