A three month lockdown, half of small businesses shuttered never to reopen, 40 million people unemployed, a measly $1200 in "relief," millions more facing brutal medical bills, rent, food, etc. and somehow the nation is distressed that people are looting?
Remember we are in the middle of a world wide pandemic and economic collapse?

They made "looting" practically a necessity.
"Looting" also know as "surviving" .
My father in law was a "looter" when he stole food and supplies to feed his family &neighbors hiding in the caves of Thessalonki when the Nazi's marched on Greece.
Starve people, cut off income, threaten their lives and what else is there?
When you hunt people, they do what they can to survive.

My father-in-law is called a hero.
If folks weren't "looting" now, they would be looting later.
(And don't be so sure it could never be you.)
The constant, collective inability to hold more than one narrative in mind at a time - no matter how essential for our collective survival - is what is truly staggering.
Just one month ago weren't three-quarters of you grabbing every roll of toilet paper and every can of beans you could get your hands on?

Now lets say, instead of toilet paper, you are out of all resources to feed and house your family? What would you grab?
