A lot of Black blue checks are weirdly invested in making sure the Black people don’t get labeled as doing any of the violence and are only being seen as doing some old civil rights chants and singing some spirituals and pleading. I don’t fully get why
Is the fear that the cops are going to rain hell down on Black protesters more if they get the blame for the most of it? The cops are on the scene, they already know who did or didn’t do looting. They have already been getting retribution on Black protesters even without riots.

I also think people who pride themselves as talented tenth types and want white people in power to see them as “managers of Black people” can’t benefit from this narrative. They can’t be sign as inciting riots so they can’t join in or egg it on but if they tell Black ppl to stop
...then they risk exposing that the actual Black masses don’t actually give a fuck what they have to say and they have no real Black constituency. So they instead are assuring Whites that the Black folk are still on the BLM suffering nobly and sharing pain wave they prescribe...

I see it one of two ways. Either you’re wrong and Black people are looting and rioting too and you’re erasing that, in which case I wonder why. Or you’re right and it is mostly White people doing it, in which case I don’t see what’s wrong with Black ppl getting “blamed” for that
