I was watching Bong Nebrija's live as he was cruising through EDSA's inner bus lanes to check on the situation. Past White Plains (where just a week ago, we put up pop-up bike lanes), he showed a line of 6 or 7 cyclists in a row. This can't seriously be okay with MMDA.
I'm at the brink of tears. People in the Life Cycles FB group are asking if bawal na talaga sa EDSA. If pwede na ba magka-protected bike lanes. Thousands of people are at risk of getting hit by a huge chunk of speeding metal, and they're just trying to get to work.
Many healthcare workers choose to bike because they understand the risk of crowding in public vehicles. Why can't we save the ones who have been doing the saving in our community by putting up #ProtectedBikeLanesNow ??? This is a CRISIS. Get down from your car-centric high tower.
