A couple of days ago, I spoke out on facebook against a tradition that naifaru men seem to be having, where they balantly insult, humiliate, and exploit personal histories of newly wed men. They retaliated with attacking me personally over me taking off my hijab. Hear me out-
-you may not think this to be a major issue but I, would appreciate if you could listen to some of their songs. The songs are mostly written and sung buy a bunch of guys while the information is provided by the groom's close friends. They go into explicit details of girls who's-
-been involved with the groom. There's a lot of objectifying and harassment involved in the name of teasing the couple. Aside from the fact that they make these songs, release it on soundcloud, they go to the lengths of playing it on ther wedding ceremonies. I know girls who've-
-cried during their wedding. I know noone has spoken up about this; mostly because it's a well known tradition among naifaru people, as well as the songs are sung/written by people with p clean reputations. But that does not justify this being labelled entertainment.
I am so frustrated I don't even know what to say anymore. These are grown ass men. If you know me well enough you'd know how much I struggled with hijab. You'd know how much I struggle with chronic pain. And how I managed to take if off. It wasn't easy. Its still not easy.
I made a valid point. Instead of hearing me out, they joined together to form one singular brain and started throwing personal jabs at me, I tried to take it lightly but I have a very low capacity for shit like this.
