if you claim to be a Christian, have bible verses in your bio, quote scripture, yet you make comments that are racist, homophobic, sexist, or literally anything thatâs hateful, youâre not representing Christ well. see, itâs not only about you. itâs about Jesus too.
in fact, itâs MAINLY about Jesus. when you identify as a Christian, people watch you to see if your words/actions align with your beliefs. when people see us, they need to see Jesus, not the exact opposite of who Jesus is.
my pastor once said: âsometimes all people see of Jesus is what they see in you.â put that on a dang sticky note and repeat it til itâs engraved in your brain. perhaps the world would be a better place if we, Christians, did what Jesus commanded us to do.
Jesus didnât ask, He COMMANDED us to love one another.
âi give you a new command: love one another. just as i have loved you, you are also to love one another. by this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one anotherâ - John 13:34-35. itâs written in RED.

itâs no wonder people have a misinterpretation of Jesus because most so called âChristiansâ are so hateful; theyâre blatantly racist, homophobic, etc. that is NOT bringing glory to Godâs kingdom, and itâs definitely not bringing anyone to it.
before you speak/act, ask yourself if what youâre about to say or do will represent who Christ truly is because the God i serve is not hateful. He doesnât hate people of the LGBTQ+ community, and He didnât just die for one group of people.
if you have racism in your heart or anything that isnât a trait of Jesus or a trait that a Christian should have, i encourage you to give that to God. i encourage you to pray about it and open His word. check your heart, people.
there is so much brokenness in the world, and Christians should not be adding to it.
