I feel like writing some fics feel like a breeze the whole way through, while others have more of this “stop and go,” “brick by brick” feeling. both are valid and each have something new to teach so shout out to the wip process
In a way, past me really chased the feeling that “easy breezy” feeling. Inspiration, striking hot. But I think as I’ve gotten older/discovered more of what I like as a writer, I’ve been really valuing the bricks one lays down, the small things that make up writing
like really hammering out one really good sentence! or planning a scene! or finding that one thing that really brings a paragraph together! idk. I have always had a tendency to rush, so I’ve tried to be really really mindful of my own process and my relationship w/ words 🤔
and obvi I’ll still write something if inspiration strikes randomly (lmao @ the bokuto gen fic) but I do try to like. slow down even when I’m doing that. it’s tough because honestly my natural tendency is just to rushrushrush but I’m more cognizant of it now
also my reflex was to conclude this thread with an apology for talking so much but no!! i will leave this as a reminder to just appreciate the process and keep going 😤
