Tried doing a social media detox, cause I'm tired of the bullshit on every platform affecting my mental health.

But I'm lucky. I can just turn off the noise, and go about my life up here in Canada.

You know who can't do that? Those killed because of the color of their skin.

I'm not gonna STFU cause I'm not American. What hurts the people I care about in America, hurts me.

So let me help educate why the 'all lives matter' is wrong.

All lives cannot matter when black lives don't.

It's #BlackLivesMatters because they have to fight for their lives.

White Privilege is real whether you want to acknowledge it or not. Actually the fact you can deny it exists, is a perfect example of your priviledge.

No one is saying you haven't struggled. Lord knows I've struggled most of my life.

But being born white (even though I often am assumed to be mixed race) means my skin didn't cause me any more strife!

This isn't some new reality. This is ingrained in our very institutions and systemic practices and has been for generations.

I don't worry when the cops stop me.

I don't get looked at as a threat on the subway.

I don't have people cross the street to avoid me.

I don't get accused of passing fake $20 ... even when I once did by accident.

As a white person, I am automatically assumed to belong.

I am given every possible advantage and denied very little because of the color of my skin.

If you read this far, you're maybe asking "so what, not my fault I was born white".

No one said it was. But use the privileges you have by being born white, to help those who are suffering simply because they happened to be born black.

Listen. Educate Yourself. Be #AntiRacist.

Cause right now it ain't about your suffering. It's about #BlackLivesMatter .
