I’ve been thinking about this too. After #GeorgeFloyd’s murder there many police chiefs condemning the officers (check RT’s from @ArtAcevedo). Even police unions whose consistent stance is that if an officer does it, then it’s justified, said those officers were wrong... https://twitter.com/dansolomon/status/1267182587996405761
We were hearing calls for real accountability from police for those in their own ranks, which is rare. But I haven’t seen those calls for accountability over the last two days for actions like “light em’ up!” in Minneapolis. https://twitter.com/tkerssen/status/1266921821653385225?s=21 https://twitter.com/tkerssen/status/1266921821653385225

Or police officers driving directly into a crowd of protestors. This action was applauded by NYPD leadership and excused by the mayor. https://twitter.com/rob_bennett/status/1266895719455248385?s=21 https://twitter.com/rob_bennett/status/1266895719455248385
Many of us watched the murder of #GeorgeFloyd in terror and disbelief. It was inexcusable, even with the long list of excuses generally offered up by police in the immediate aftermath (he was armed, possibly armed, resisted arrest, etc.) to anyone who watched...
Only w/o those excuses and with that horrifying video evidence did we get calls for police accountability from within their own ranks. We don’t even know yet if the murderer and his accomplices will truly be held accountable. But if the police want us to believe the sincerity…
…in the calls for accountability a few days ago, then we need to start seeing some of those same calls for accountability of police by police in the coming days for things like knocking an old guy over with your riot shield because he can’t walk fast. https://twitter.com/bubbaprog/status/1266908354821206016?s=21 https://twitter.com/bubbaprog/status/1266908354821206016
