I want to say something that will probably piss off some mutuals. Please bear with me to the end. I want to explain what "Antifa" really means but I want to start with how I misunderstood the phrase when I encountered the idea. I think its useful for clearing up misinformation 1/

4/ Over time, as I continued working on projects that opposed both VZ and US aggression, activists from communities that had been grieved by oppressive authoritarian measures started reaching out to me. A lot of them identified as "Antifa". This gave me pause...

5/ But as I engaged with them, I found something surpising: it was impossible to categorize their beliefs beyond resisting Tyranny. Some were protesters in HK. Some were Open-source investigators. Some were community organizers for small community groups. Some were....

6/ 2nd amendments activists. some despised guns. Some were communists. Others hated communism. None of them were connected in any way beyond some basic communication that you might have with anyone on the internet. It was an extremely diverse group of people with a broadly...

7/ divergent philosophy. "Antifia" isn't a group. It isn't an organization. It doesn't have "members", or finances, offices, chapters etc. It doesn't exist as a group

It is an Ideology. It is anyone who opposes fascism. By definition "ANTIFAscist"

8/ Into some catch-all organization is inherently hilarious. It's also grossly misunderstanding what the term means, as well as the people who choose it.

Like any diverse group of people, some of these people are fucking assholes. Others are the gentlest most amazing people...

Saying it is criminal to be anti-fascist, is by definition a fascists idea. And that is what Trump is doing. Don't fall for it
