If you're white and want to be actively anti-racist please read this.

Stop letting your friends say the n-word when listening to rap songs.
Stop letting your friends use AAVE when playing a "sassy character."

Stop letting your friends call something ghetto/ratchet when you are aware it is something explicitly connected to the black community.
Stop letting your friends appropriate black hairstyles. Yes, those braids do count.

Stop letting your friends use slurs behind closed doors.

Stop letting your friends make stereotyping racist "jokes".
You know which ones.
If something came to your head when reading that, make sure to call people out when they stereotype and make it into a joke. It isn't funny.

Stop letting your friends say, "but I have black friends."
Having friends of a specific race never gives you the excuse to be offensive and racist and hurt people.

Stop letting your friends talk differently when around black people.
It might be subconscious but if you can notice a change in their tone, inflection, mannerisms, vocabulary, etc. Tell them to be conscious about it.

If you want to be anti-racist don't just call yourself or strangers online out.

It can be uncomfortable to confront friends and family but that's not an excuse to be passive.
It's important that we tell them to stop being racist and teach them why these things are not okay.

There's a lot that can be added to this. But you get the gist. Be active. Fight racism behind closed doors. What you do when no one is watching matters more than you think.
