On Friday, I posted something on twitter that was on my mind last week which I regret and am very sorry for. I do not believe these equate in any way or form, but it came across like that. I should have posted in dif threads, which is why I deleted it. #Ottawa
Its important to acknowledge this, accept responsibility and be an ally. Actions speak loudly, and its why I will continue to support and commit to more justice focussed candidates like @rawlsonking in #Ottawa.
I will ask some fellow Councillors who raised this and put pressure on media to pick it up and spread this where they stand on @J4Abdirahman and their own allyship. Or on the unresolved murder of @AjdmFoundation and support. #Ottawa
Calling people out is important, especially in these times, lets also back it up with actions. The next time I march to deliver @herongatetc work orders to Timbercreek will other councillors join me? Will you be there on Friday when this happens? I will. #Ottawa #ottnews
And donated to the #JusticeForRegis fund. Working with 613819 Black Hub with people like Richard Sharpe and June Girvan we passed empowering motions to look at suspensions, streaming and disaggregated racialized data @OCDSB. More of this is needed right now. #BlackLivesMatter
