ATL's city council ( @atlcouncil) is voting on the proposed 20-21 budget TOMORROW - Monday, 6/1. They've allocated $18M to the Atlanta City Detention Center.
There are a few ways we can let them know that Atlantans (& others with us in solidarity) do not accept further funding for caging of our people and want to move that $18M from cuffs to care:
1 - Sign this petition from Close The Jail ATL: https://www.closethejailatl.org/cuffs-to-care #CommunitiesOverCages #CloseTheJailATL
2 - Call and email your Councilmember to demand they redirect $18 million from cuffs to care. https://citycouncil.atlantaga.gov/council-members
3 - Tweet at the Mayor and Councilmembers
