*sips casually*
Hey, remember in 1963 when the Rumford Fair Housing Act passed thnx to peaceful protest and racists in Cali immediately got that shit revoked with Prop 14? And how this is seen as one cause for the Watts riots of '65, which led to the Prop's constitutionality being challenged?
On the other hand, remember all those times cops beat down or straight up killed a PoC, riots started, and then they got acquitted and even reinstated to the force? Like from Harlem in 1964 to... let's see, last round of acquittals after riots... ah yes, 2016 w/ Freddie Gray.
But oh, wait. Remember all of those peaceful protests THAT WEREN'T PEACEFUL? BUT NO REALLY HOW CAN A PROTEST BE CALLED NONVIOLENT WHEN ONLY ONE OF THE TWO PARTIES ISN'T FIGHTING BACK? I guess if I beat your ass and you don't fight back, that's a peaceful/nonviolent encounter. TIL
What am I getting at with this thread/rant?

Everybody talking about "those people" burning down "their businesses" and not sure "who it is helping" are telling on themselves real loud by leaving the impetus to change on black people's shoulders.

Oh, my bad. "Their" shoulders.
