I'm in favor of enforcing the law. Most cops are good people. Cops deserve the benefit of the doubt in close cases. Cops can't work from home in a pandemic.

When I became a lawyer, my dad told me that we already had too many lawyers, but you can't have too many *good* lawyers. There are bad people in every job. Doctors, nurses, cops, teachers, priests, soldiers, journalists, scientists, pick your favorite profession.

Accountability is all about the ability to distinguish bad actors from good ones, and good-faith mistakes from both.
