As a white autistic, my ‘suspicious’ behaviors got me stopped by police twice. Once for hiking, once for looking like I was ‘on drugs’ at a checkpoint.
If I was #AutisticWhileBlack, I could have been arrested, or worse. This is my white privilege.

Black autistics are underdiagnosed.
Prisons are disproportionately black.
Autistics are prone to meltdowns, noncompliance and other ‘threatening’ behavior.

If you can’t imagine what it’s like to be autistic while Black, neither can I.
So be an ally to Black autistics.
