Officers and protestors have exchanged words servers times as officers ask protestors to stay out of opposing traffic

Other than a couple of words exchanged, one water bottle tossed and the gas station arrest incident, everyone has been respectful. MPD has kept traffic off McHenry the whole way so that protestors can march peacefully.

The march has been asked to wait just outside the downtown core as police clear the area

My phone died. Things have escalated immensely. Cops out with riot gear now. Rubber bullets but no tear gas yet

The protest has been peaceful all day. The organizer just returned, dumbstruck at what was going on. After the march, a different man grabbed the microphone and marched the crowd against the cops and that's when things began to escalate and items were thrown at police
