Peter Manfredonia led a six day manhunt in multiple states, killed two people violently, kidnapped another, and had stolen firearms. Mubarak Soulemane was involved in a carjacking/high-speed car chase, that most likely took place during a schizophrenic episode. (Thread)
Manfredonia apparently had anxiety and depression, and as shown, was highly speculated to have schizophrenia like Mubarak. Soulemane was shot 7 times by a state trooper and never got a fair trial, or to see another day again. Manfredonia was taken into custody peacefully.
The pictures below shows just one example of thousands of IG comments under Manfredonia’s posts once the manhunt had begun. The other comments were found under the bodycam footage of Soulemane’s shootings using foul language such as “BURN THAT BEAST DOWN.” See a difference here?
CLEARLY there is a pattern in the criminal justice system where White men who commit heinous crimes against society, are viewed as “a lost soul who needed help” and taken in with the hope of rehabilitation of their mental health. Black men are killed everyday for lesser crimes,
Nor are offered any sympathy or humanity whatsoever. This is a perfect example, and I know there are countless others who fit this scenario all too well. I would ask why is this, but we all know the answer. Blatant racism. And if you can deny that, you are part of the problem.
I graduated from high school with Mubarak Soulemane. We were not close, but his untimely death haunts me to this day. The few interactions we did have was enough to show me that he was one of the kindest souls, and deserves to have his story heard. Please do not forget his name.
Here is an instagram page you can follow for updates on protests and rallies held for the justice of Mubarak, if you live in the CT area and are interested. Ig @/justiceformubarak
