Section 230 protects tech/social media companies (such as twitter) from being the active publisher in all messages/posts. By doing this, Section 230 keeps these companies from being legally responsible for what users publish (their words). https://www.eff.org/issues/cda230 

For example:

Hypothetically, if a Twitter user tweets out a threat to the government or any governmental official, Twitter would not be held complicit in the matter; the sole individual who posted the tweet would be legally responsible.

Therefore, by attempting to get rid of Section 230 or even to alter it, the current administration infringes upon constitutional rights (most noteably freedom of speech).

Basically,

The current administration is trying to LIMIT the knowledge being spread over social media such as Twitter by holding Twitter accountable for everything published on its platform (COMPLETELY AGAINST SECTION 230)

And by doing so, the current administration is forcing Twitter to comply and to HARBOR knowledge from users.

I’m going to conclude this thread by highlighting my purpose — which is very important for authors of any information to do because it informs those reading their information of the author’s personal agenda

This thread is NOT endorsing the left by pointing out injustices committed by the current administration. My sole intention with this thread is to call out oppressive powers—most of the time taking the shape of governmental bodies. There is a MAJOR problem with our current (1/2)

system, and it’s one that is NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to fix from the inside. That is all. (2/2)
