We black people live in the shadow of fear. It is a constant presence, a ball of anxiety that only grows bigger as we constantly see injustice against us, proof that the system isn't there to protect us, only to punish. #BlackLivesMatter

We want to pretend that it's okay, we're used to it, but none of it is okay. The list of names of black people murdered by the police get longer everyday and every name adds to the anxiety. At some point, that anxiety turns into anger and it explodes. #BlackLivesMatter

If you can't understand why the protests are happening, & you're focused on the cost of property that can be replaced, then YOU are part of the problem. Focus on the human cost, and understand that we CARRY this pain and anxiety with us every single day. #BlackLivesMatter
