Over the past few days, I’ve done some thinking about how I want US History classes to be next year. Here’s what I’ve got so far for themes.
I tried to choose historical + contemporary phrases/slogans that center resistance. It’s a work in progress.

I figure if I’m still teaching a college board course, the least I can do is make sure the course readings and pedagogy are explicitly anti-racist and anti-bias.
If you end up using this in your work at all, let me know - I’d love to see whether it’s helpful to you and your students, and if you have ideas for how to make this document better
Don’t know the history behind some of these phrases/slogans that are paired with AP themes? Now’s a great time to start researching and wonder why there are some of these that may be less familiar to people.
