Listening to Komm, susser tod as I walk through a ruined city sure is... something. 
I’m unintentionally listening to very fitting music as I walk to my destination. Have a good half hour journey so I’m just chilling as I work my way there. But anyone who has seen season 2 of The Leftovers will recognize this. The moment after the city riots.
Black Hawk endlessly circling the 5th precinct area of Minneapolis. It’s surreal down here today. Lots of people out walking, biking, and shopping, it’s as if destroyed buildings, burned cars, and riots are normal.
Life goes on.

Wells Fargo was set ablaze, it too collapsed. My night 3 footage shows the people who initially broke into it.
Post office destroyed. The graffiti is meaningless. How many black communities rely on their service?

Haven’t had a proper meal since the pizza from night 3. It’s warm out today too. Stopping for a small snack to hydrate and refresh my energy. I’m feeling these 5 days. More so today as I have lots and lots of walking to do. Tomorrow I rest.

No idea what they were saying, but it seemed like quite the powerful prayer.

Made it back near where it all began. Here’s a wider shot of the destroyed strip mall I showed at the top of day 2’s thread:
It’s calm here today. 4 days ago Is when I captured this mall being looted. 3 days ago this area was on fire. 2 days ago the national guard had this place locked down before they retreated. Jump to today and they try to clean and rebuild.
This is where I caught footage of target on fire at the end of day 2.
They’re trying to paint over the graffiti but it returns
Another block just destroyed. Every fast food restaurant and grocery store is burned out too.

Back to where it all began. The aftermath of the battle for the third precinct. On night one this is where I got teargassed (vid at top of thread) and night two is where the cops fled and the building burned (also at top of thread). Hard to believe it’s only been a few days.

After disappearing a couple hours ago, the Blackhawk has returned. Shortly followed by a second one. Things are calm now, but as with the other days, the nighttime chaos may be just around the corner
On that note I’m taking a break for awhile. I expect nighttime to be crazy and I need some food before I go further. I’m utterly wiped. Be back in an hour for what could be the battle for precinct 5. Long night ahead of me.

Made it to the crowd. Many depart as curfew is in 30 and the National Guard has them afraid. Not sure how many will remain or what will happen to us.
Tensions high. Many protestors leaving, others fighting and trying to get people to stay. They fear the guard will rush in at 8 and start shooting. I assume they mean non lethal rounds.
This is officially the most nervous I’ve been. There’s no good route for me to get out of here in time. I might be arrested. I don’t know

With all I’ve been through these last 4-5 days. I just can’t do this one. Bad vibes. Which is saying a lot given what you see ive been through at the top of the thread
Booked it out of the conflict zone. Not being picked up on my phone but lots of noise from over there

A bunch of the city is closed off. Police patrolling. A few have driven by a block or two away. Trying to find an evac route. I’ve walked/ran more than 10-15 miles today, on top of everything from the last few. I’m worn out
I smell and feel tear gas in the wind.
Apologies that today’s footage wasn’t as eventful. Just a bad feeling about tonight. There were so many police and guard. They were prepared to move on that crowd and if what’s happening in other states is any indication, they don’t care who they hit. Peaceful or not
Looking at sky cam footage and it’s good I left. Protestors are scrambling back and forth as police gas and shoot em with non lethal rounds. It’s a mess

I avoided arrest. Look how they’re surrounded. My gut was right.
Police/guard have begun moving in and are taking away protestors 1 or 2 at a time from the looks of it.
I’ve made it to my ride. Fleeing city. Well, if the above is any indication, my instinct was right. I don’t feel bad about dipping. Seems I got out with only a minute or two to spare
These 5 days have been a wild ride. The first 3 nights esp. I don’t know what happens tomorrow, but things have gradually died down since Fri. I’m sure there’ll be things here and there, but I hope soon there’s peace cuz this community needs to heal. The destruction is far & wide
