Sword guy, bow guy. Lots of people's action hero fantasies are running face-first into reality right now.
Both sword guy and bow guy got rushed and mobbed and beaten into the ground and I'm going to say something maybe counterintuitive, but I think this response shows something good about human nature.
They brought things that were inarguably and recognizably weapons. Like, weapon-coded weapons. And menaced people with them, no matter that sword guy at least seems to have genuinely believed he was acting as a defender. (I have reservations about bow guy's motives.)
And what was people's response? They acted swiftly to remove the threat. One person taking on a guy who has a bow or a sword is likely to get hurt. A crowd of people at once? It's no contest.
One thing I have not seen much of at all in any of the cities right now is people, not cops, just up and attacking someone. There aren't roving gangs of protesters jumping people. It IS a non-violent response, even when property is being damaged.
People who bring out weapons, not even improvised weapons but actual weapons, giant statement-making "here is a weapon" weapons like swords and bows, are bringing violence with them. They are declaring an intent. They are escalating things.
Just think about how measured this all is. All this anger, all this destruction, but no attacks... then someone pulls out a weapon and starts making threats and everybody around them takes them out, quickly.

Don't let anyone tell you that people are out of control.
