CN Transmiyogyny
I just wanna scream every single time other queer folks accuse a trans woman of "pedophilia" and being "predatory", and then when you look closer, it's about something faaaaar different (like, in the most recent case, "they're 26 + dating a 17 year old!!!").

I get how you can be be deeply uncomfortable with that. I think we indeed need nuanced (!) conversations about power structures in relationships. Those exist aplenty even aside from age: race, wealth/class, and we should even think how those can exist in cis+trans relationships.
But it's just *so fucking awful* that in most of these cases, it's an outside party judging the relationships of a trans woman, without even asking her younger partners if they're maybe 100% fine and have a great relationship?
It's overreaching and insulting.

And this reaction is *deeply* rooted in transmisogyny.
Because not ONCE in my whole internet life have I seen these arguments made about an older cis woman and her younger partners. Despite cis women having greater power relative to trans women.
Curious, isn't it?

I know lots of people feel uncomfortable with age gaps on a deeply emotional level, sometimes because of own trauma, and that makes the nuanced conversation so hard.
I don't want to act like predatory behaviour doesn't exist in queer spaces; it absolutely does.

But you don't get to call a trans woman a *pedophile* and *predator* because of *just* this, without any corraborating evidence of actual predatory behaviour.
If you do, you're parroting TERF talking points and *really* need to take a look at your transmisogyny.

In the end, you're also making actual victims of abuse less believable with this because when "this trans woman is a pedophile and predator!" has been falsely claimed so damn often, I won't, I *can't* believe that claim anymore without at least some corraborating evidence.
