My Daughter-in-law got this from a friend. I couldn't not share it.

1./As a white male in his late 50’s there is nowhere in this country that I cannot go unchallenged. People defer to me and presume I must know what I am doing and have a reason for being anywhere I want to be without question, because I am a middle-aged, white guy.

2./It is my responsibility to remember and acknowledge my privilege and to look for places and individuals who do not share that privilege, specifically because I have the power. Not because I asked for it, but because it was societally bestowed on me as a middle-aged, white guy.

3./Being an ally can be hard, as it sometimes calls upon you to challenge your friends, but is NOT as hard as living the life of the oppressed.
I have privilege as a white person because I can do all of these things without thinking twice.
