THREAD: If you’re a white leftist, let me give you some advice. When an unarmed black man is brutally murdered by a police officer, it’s not your turn to pitch anarchy or socialism or prison abolition or Medicare For All or anything at all, really.
2. The platforms created by black voices are there to highlight police brutality and to advocate for justice and accountability.
If you want to be an ally, your job is to support and signal boost those black voices. Full stop.

3. Escalating peaceful protests to violence by destroying property in neighborhoods you don’t live in is white supremacy. Stop it.
4. Throwing rocks at police officers who retaliate against black voices is white supremacy. Stop it.
5. Erasing black voices by hijacking their movement to attack capitalism is white supremacy. Stop it.
6. White leftists - this is not your movement. You can be in it as a team player but you can’t own it.
It’s amazing how a message telling white leftists to stand aside and let black voices lead is triggering hysteria among leftists. Amazing but predictable. This has been a pattern of either equating class and race or subverting every racial issue into a class analysis.
