So, while there's a little bit of time in the day, I wanted to pose a question in a good faith discussion regarding the long term goal of the protests: and let me repeat, this isn't me asking the protests to justify themselves, they are >entirely< justified
But we've known that ACAB for a long time, and the question becomes: How deep does that go? and how much reform is needed?

What do we want from the cops?
To add to the dilemma:

- We know that %40 have been cited for domestic violence
- we also know that, based on an article that was circulating earlier, that they don't take people over a certain IQ

both of which can tell us that being a cop attracts a certain kind of person.
^ While that is not /only/ kind of person attracted to police duty, there is an aspect of being a cop that appeals to people looking for personal power over others.

Some have suggested review by an outside entity - which seems interesting, and valuable, but how do we make that -
system effective?

Others have suggested disbanding the modern police entirely - in which case; what, or who, do we replace them with? What kind of organization could be built that actually protects and serves its people?
Again, I hope this is a good place to field ideas, vent anger, and give perspective.
