There is racism and police brutality in Britain, but one must be careful not to impose the dynamics & categories of the US onto here. Two very different societies & histories; race operates differently. Racism and police brutality in Britain must be addressed on its own terms.

The propensity to export the racial categories & dynamics; the racial language & grammar of the United States and project it all across the world is actually a form of American intellectual imperialism that doesn't help & actually obscures how we analyse the problem.

So have solidarity demonstrations by all means, but also have clarity and keep in mind the distinctions.
