In 2018, I thought I was finally going to be able to attend Pride. I was excited but, bailed last minute because of the fear that any of my relatives would see me. In 2019, I bailed as well for the same reasons. Didn't want my family 2 b ashamed of me
(2/5) 2020 rolls in, I thought to myself, "this is going to be the year." I can finally come to Pride, finally surround myself with love and people who care about me. ECQ had other plans and that's fine! But I want to encourage everyone to raise awareness on the context and +
beginnings of how Pride March came to be. Pride is a PROTEST and will always be a protest. One that I have ALWAYS dreamt I could partake in. A protest led by a black transwoman. Moreover, if you cannot donate that's okay. You can easily spread awareness and be an ally! Tell people off for being homophobic and protect other LGBTQIA+ folk. If you can, take time to read my thoughts on the matter and really understand.

Lastly, if any part of this thread is wrong I am completely okay with being educated and being corrected on the matter! I am part of the community, but that doesn't mean I stop learning too 🏳️‍🌈
