People in India wanting to support #BlackLivesMatter , here's a host of ways to fight against the gross injustice against #GeorgeFlyod and many like him, in a meaningful way.
Fight systematic injustices against minorities in our country: Especially while the nation is ripe with the deaths of #MigrantWorkers caused by the state's willful neglect, students booked for peaceful protests, the state sponsored violence against Muslims & as #KashmirBleeds.
Your voices in support of #BlackLivesMatter doesn't mean squat to them or us, if you maintain radio silence on all these issues every single day. You are what they are fighting in their homelands.
Don't try to co-opt their struggle if justice is not your cause.
P.C: @roohesadiq
People suffering systematic injustices across the world, especially the world that we live in today, are fighting the same demons. You can't play an angel for a faraway land because you have no stakes. That's not solidarity. That's making an ad campaign out of dead bodies.
Stand in solidarity with people oppressed, everywhere. Do something about it where you can. And unless you do, do not do either the dishonour of using them for sad attempts at staying relevant.
