[A thread of my ranting on the government's take on shielding]

so many lockdown relaxations are being introduced. People are allowed to meet others in parks and gardens from Monday & schools will take in pupils - if this causes detierioration, this is going to be horrendous
As a shielder, I've been told I can go outside with members of my house but if alone can meet one other person from another household while following social distancing guidelines outside...so does that mean that those alone have to risk choosing one person they don't live with?
Or that when outside, I keep away from my fiancé?
Robert Jenrick has said it's because "incident rates are now significantly lower than before these measures were out in place"

...but we're still on a reported 38,489 deaths!
So like @KatiePennick said, who do I listen to, my doctor, who actually knows about my condition and medical history - or the government, who keep changing what they say every 5 minutes?
Jenrick's "thanks to shielders for patience and fortitude" honestly means shit all when we've had no communication, no support, and no concrete, repeated information on wtf we actually should be doing but instead left to one side
To be honest, I don't want to hear about people going outside or picnics with their 10 friends because let's be honest it's just not safe to do yet. People are acting like it's all over. It's not even close to thst. It's still v real and dangerous, especially for disabled folk.
Imho, to protect your shielding loved ones, family, friends - it's safer to not meet up with others yet. Carry on social distancing, go to shops when you have to, but wear protection and wash your hands. Don't act like this is over now because the rates are down by a tiny amount
Why is the government doing this? Because if economy goes down it'd bad for the government. You know what else is bad?
