People reached out to me, @jenuuhveev + @jenniferxca wondering who and what our recent tweets were about but it wasn’t a who. We were looking to debunk the systemic reality that most in education don’t care to listen and surely don’t care enough to speak about Black lives. (1/3)

As a system, public education doesn’t hold to the notion of Black lives mattering. Behavior of Black students is deemed “disruptive” and “destructive” (much like current protests...hmm )so our callout efforts were simply calling out educators who hadn’t spoken that (2/3)

we hope do not believe this. If the educators who value Black lives begin to understand they’re worth speaking up for then others might learn their value as well. It wasn’t confrontational, it was aspirational. (3/3)
