What ever happened to Celie and Nettie’s brother? He was only in one scene in the very beginning when their step father sold her to Mister.

Celie suggests that everything she’s seen her baby seen, did she inadvertently name her baby Ole’ Liva bc her eyes possess the same wisdom and caution as an older women as the preacher’s wife explained?

Wtf was up with both Harpo and Mister throwing rocks at women? Harpo when Celie first arrived and Mister when Nettie first left. Must be in the dna of embeciles.

For the life of me I dont understand why Mister always had hella extra kids down at his house when his kids were young. Was this nigga the neighborhood baby sister? Wtf

Side bar (and also fun fact) I named my first car Oliver bc of this movie. Oliver Twist was the first book (it appears) that Celie read cover to cover. And yes, I’m obsessed with this movie. It was a medium green 97 Cavalier for anyone wondering lol.

Did Harpo tell Sophia that both Celie and Mister advised him to beat her or dud he just say Celie. If he would have just said Mister told him, Sophia would have confronted him and I got the feeling she could have beat that nigga’s ass something good.

Was Celie in love with or intimidated by Shug Avery before they met?

It’s interesting to note that Celie and Mister never had kids together. Or was she at one point pregnant and miscarried or had the pregnancy terminated somehow?

Another side bar: When I was I was 14 I went to this off brand Gogo spot in Forestville. There was this HUGE brawl. At least 50 ppl were fighting each other. Now I had seen plenty of fights before this but this was next level. I felt liked Celie watching the bar fight lol

Why did Steven Spielberg the director decide to have the truck block the audience from seeing Sophia punch the Mayor?

The scenes with Sophia and Celie have the most layers and complexities amongst the cast. From fear, to comradary, to angerness, to forgiveness, to vulnerable, and on and on. No other paired cast mates have this set up of a dynamic.

Why tf did they have Celie reading a letter from Nettie with a 20yr synopsis! It would have went better if it was just a random letter about Easter &her trying to come home. The movie has shot after shot of Celie reading countless letters anyway. The content would have been there

Had Shug Avery not shown up in this scene, was Celie attempting to kill Mister or just pepper him up a bit?

Did Mister ever open up any of the letters from Nettie? Majority of them seem sealed. What kind of cruel bastard isn’t even curious enough to read mail coming from AFRICA! Wtf

Both Mister and his Pa respond well to powerful women. Pa was cracking slick at the dinner table and Sophia told him “hush up you old fool” and then moments later as chaos is ubrupting they keykeying like they cool

I wonder what kind of magic Celie used on Mister. In the missing four year span the movie skips between 1933 and 1937 Mister went from a revered farmer to be (at minimum) respected to a man drunk down on his luck with loose chickens and goat on his porch. Which herbs did him in?

And why the FUCK didn’t Nettie’s Pa go chin check Mister after he attempted to rape and then beat her? The way he protected her in the beginning don’t add up with this missed opportunity for an ass whooping. Granted he was of the same elk but nah he was supposed to handle that

No curious content about this part just wanna say the “Speak Lord” scene does my soul some good every time I watch this movie. Whew.
