A lovely individual calmly asked if i could give my point of view on the events of looting and rioting and this is what i had to say:

PSA: if your pure intensions are to learn and understand, It will always be okay to ask.

We need to start thinking critically and assess these events as they are: inevitable but negative side effects. If you genuinely believe that BLM are the sole proprietors of this violence and destruction, then you might need to sit down

And reevaluate your understanding of BLM and anti political movements, or if anything, research It. If the only character attribute you’re speaking on are due to the looting and rioting, then you’re being ignorant to the message and this movement is not for you.

The media (both news and social) will always paint the picture that Black individuals only language is that of violence. When the evidence suggests the EXACT opposite. I’m sure you’ve seen these posts that state “but the media won’t show you this” -

That isn’t a quirky phrase to be used, it’s a tool. A secondary view point that doesn’t pan away from the truth of what’s happening. Be smart, assess, understand.
