(1/6) On May 25th 2020, George Floyd, an African-American male was murdered by Derek Chauvin, a police officer who held Floyd by the neck with his knee, cutting off his breathing for over 5 minutes.
(2/6) On that day, we all learned once more that a word as simple as “privilege” can be abused by the color of a person’s skin. As someone who is of a lighter color, i’ve never had to worry nor experience racial slurs being thrown towards me.
(3/6) It feels surreal to think that people are being downgraded physically and emotionally for being a color other than white. I grew up in a generation so diverse and so accepting that it’s never occurred to me how real and fresh racism still is.
(4/6) As James Baldwin, a black American activist once said, “not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” I encourage anyone who has the ability to do anything, small or big, to take action.
(5/6) My team and I have done some research and found a resources that includes different approaches everyone can do to bring justice to George Floyd and to make it aware that black lives matter.
(6/6) George Floyd's death will not go unnoticed. Your act of kindness will not go unnoticed.

The rest of this thread will be the resource we found!

Please stay safe and we love you ♥️
