As children go back to school it’s important to keep in mind that of the 15 million kids in the UK, two have died of coronavirus.

(Data from respected PICU consultant colleague) #covid19
Schools are safe for children. Your child is more likely to have an accident playing in the garden than be seriously ill from coronavirus caught from school.
In Denmark, schools have been open a while now with no increase in virus transmission.

Also, Icelandic data suggests transmission from children to adults is much less than the other way round.
Keeping children away from school is doing untold harm to their future. Particularly children from poorer backgrounds who may not have the same facilities for remote learning (e.g. own room, own iPad etc). Also to their social development.
I know parents are nervous about sending their kids back to school, but keeping them away is likely to be much more harmful both in the short term, and to their long term future.
