I started investing in the stock market when I was about 22 (now 35 ) I knew absolutely nothing about it but had a decent amount of savings around £25k and it always interested me. Being a newbie I got very drawn into the chat

Boards and listened to those saying this is going to rocket, hold on to your seats and was getting spiked left right and centre at the same time my mate was saying we should buy before companies release news and figures half year end of year etc, problem with that is I

Had never heard of buy on rumour sell on news and before I knew it I was getting spiked again by this stage I was prob a good £15k down. Now my career at this time was in car sales and I managed to sell a car to an investment manager and where we got on so well I picked

His brain and he said if I want to buy a car I come to you as you know everything so why are you trying to do what I do with no knowledge which I completely respected, he said how much have I got left and I decided he was now going to invest for me! He absolutely smashed it

For me!! Why? Coz he knew what he was doing and had an amazing team round him!! My personal favourite was buying fevertree for me at IPO and watching it go all the way into the £30s!! For a good 10 years I watched what he did and kept an eye on the market!! I started to feel

More confident but again I invested more savings are started losing again, mainly in oillies who seem to never find any and place at any opportunity. Again I found myself down around £20k this time!! I was scratching my head thinking why the hell do I keep making the same

Mistakes!! This time I didn’t have the heart to sell and watched my pf stat stagnant for years!! I then sold my PF this year with my investment guy before the crash in Feb and this time was determined to time it right! Que the covid bubble which has been a god send and I am

Certainly not taking it for granted as I have now got back my £20k loss and made a further £20k!! I am writing this so you know how tough it is to make money if you don’t know what your doing and the markets can hang you out to dry no matter how much you think you know!!

I started out listening to other people and it got me no where and I feel Twitter is just as bad for that now!! Trust your own research and judgement, take profits (even though I still struggle) and if you are making money now and new to this remember nothing lasts forever

My mate once first got into gambling because someone told him about a 100/1 horse which came in and he thought how easy is this!! The markets are no difference, it’s a bubble at the moment so make the most and protect yourself!!
