My inbox has been inundated with the pictures below from friends seeking to know if this is the current position of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIAIRPORT)

The answer is NO.
Picture 1 and 2 are CERTAINLY not Enugu international airport. They are fake!

Picture 3 is the front elevation of the AIIAIRPORT International terminal which I suspect was captured by somebody during one of those visits to the Airport.
Picture 4 reflects the status of AIIAIRPORT runway when the milling of asphalt had commenced.

In summary, pictures 1 and 2 are photos of another airport DELIBERATELY mixed with old pictures taken from Enugu airport with intent to mislead and confuse the people.
But to be clear, work is going on at the airport.
On 30th March, following the nationwide lockdown as a result of COVID-19, the construction company - P.W - declared a Force Mejeure (a legal clause in a contract which protects one or both parties from...
being held liable for failing to fulfil their part of the contract as a result of an unforeseen event). COVID-19 was that unforseen event. So civil works on the runway went on suspension as a result, although other activities like the perimeter fencing was never suspended.
But on 14th May, P.W returned to site. I have pictures and videos as well as the full report of progress of works submitted to the SOUTH-EAST GOVERNORS' FORUM by the AIIAirport monitoring committee chairman, Engr. Chris Okoye with whom I communicated a while ago but...
but knowing my audience, I prefer sharing only the photos and videos I recorded myself.

As it stands, I have absolutely no idea when the airport will be ready. So if you are considering asking me that question, there, I already gave the answer.

The Enugu Metropolitan Network @The042Network has made efforts this morning to further verify these pictures that littered everywhere this morning but we have been unable to however we are working on gaining access into the airport.
The pictures we've shared at the end were taken less than two hours ago when we went to the airport.

It is to our benefit that this airport is indeed up and running and is built to standard.

We only wish to confirm the status so we are not misled by the BMC.
