Hi Mr. Aboyeji, I've tried to find ways to articulate a response to this insult you've typed, given that you love your echo chamber where you tend not to engage contrasting opinions and corrections. But I'll try and do so for the highly impressionable people who follow you. (1/n) https://twitter.com/iaboyeji/status/1267043587755212804
- So please how were the scores and debts of these settled. We see his face every time we spend the ₦100.

Because many of us were told stories and taken to the residences of our grandparents which were claimed/taken over by people of a specific tribe in Lagos.

The Asaba Massacre of Innocent women and Children for sport by Murtala muhammed and his cohorts still has yet to be acknowledged, but he's on the ₦20 and has an airport named after him. https://medium.com/@chxta/the-asaba-massacre-fifty-years-on-665bb9cca29d

Wonder what you mean here, as this reeks of the privilege of ignorance. Maybe cause civil war literature is not taught in schools, and you may not have had direct experience with victims of the war. (5/n)
How you expect us to build this future, when a massive crack in the past isnt ACKNOWLEDGED https://twitter.com/iaboyeji/status/1267043589298819075?s=20 (6/n)
On the insult of "scores" and "debt" settlement. On April 7, the world remembers the Rwandan genocide. That is an attempt by a country that "wishes" to move on. We in Nigeria are insulted for asking for a date, as speaking about the war is taboo https://twitter.com/humansofny/status/1055517720609906688?s=20 (7/n)
Wonder what, the "pre-set" rules are here. The country has been on an intentional economic suppression spree of the Igbos since the war was lost. Most notably the GBP20 decree, by who? Awo Again. Or do we want to talk about Bubu's 97 v 5 decree?

Because we do not want to acknowledge history, the next generation are being taught IN SCHOOLS that the war started because the "Igbos did not want to share the oil" goodluck getting the country to move on without acknowledging this flaw https://twitter.com/FizzyThatcher/status/1266838316286201856?s=20 (9/n)
If you care about building an inclusive Nigeria, that wants to move on, start by:

- lending your voice to the calls to standardise the history curriculum.

-Having a day set aside to commemorate the civil war, so all stories can be told openly.

(10/n)
- Educate people in all that happened during the war, acknowledging the atrocities of the time.

Also the children of the main actors/profiteers of the war are alive and well.

Feel free to join the next no victors discussion if you have the time. (11/n)
The politics of exclusion is not over. You do not get to declare it over from your privileged position. Your thread was tone deaf, scores and debt have not been settled cause were never acknowledged. So please sit this one out and please read the room. This is irresponsible (end)
