There has been scant concrete evidence of white supremacist instigation anywhere in the nation over the past few days.

Lots of confirmed reports of armed dudes “guarding” structures.

But please be careful about inserting conclusions into observations that may lead to harm.

In a few months cops will be saying “oh we had reports of white supremacists and that’s why we sent the armed units who maimed you into your community”

I am not saying that there aren’t white supremacists starting shit. I am saying we have to be very careful about being specific in coming to those conclusions and acting on them.

To be clear, I’m referring to organized, ideological, non-state employed white supremacists, not just conservative white folks or cops

If you get me any sort of lead linking a suspected white supremacist to any act of violence or property damage, I will hunt them to the ends of the earth like I have already done to so many

Ask yourself how you know they are white supremacists?

- are they using specific language?
- are they sporting specific symbols?
- what is their pattern of action?

There are other factors you have to consider:

- outsiders won’t be able to navigate an unfamiliar city without navigational aid
- cell phones will later pin them to crimes

So do you see them using paper maps? How do they know where to go?

Some of the targeted violence against pillars of the community is almost surely being done by right wingers.

That’s why it’s more important than ever to get this right.

Believe me, no one is gonna work harder to conclusively pin acts of community violence to white nationalists when possible
