Someone graffitied over "veterans" on the sign at the VA headquarters, and wrote "Colony" beneath it.

One thing I don't think it fully realized til this morning: the ease with which electric scooters turn into projectiles that can break windows.
McReynold's Liquors looted, door smashed out.

At the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, graffiti:

"We're not asking for freedom"
A final note as I continue my walk away from downtown: some of the graffiti reads like a teenager trying to be edgy.
Spoke too soon: there's graffiti on the DAR Memorial Continental Hall.
Daily 14 Liquors, a mom-and-pop near Thomas Circle, had its doors smashed. Glass bottles in the street outside suggest looting.
A couple doors down, windows smashed.
Also graffitied: the statue of Union Gen. George Henry Thomas in Thomas Circle.
