in singapore, we love to say we are a "multi-racial" country where we appreciate each other's races. but are we really that appreciative?
if we are truly appreciative of each other, why do we keep making jokes that may not seem racist but are racist. why do we keep laughing about each other's skintones? why do some of us use the n word and other slurs like its just a random word?
some words aren't just "slang", they have a meaning behind it and a rich history. using such words is extremely disrespectful.
times like this, we pay more attention to the racism that occurs around us singaporeans. however, this shouldn't be the only time we pay attention to it, we should be doing it everyday.
