oh please people got mad when the protests were peaceful and people got mad when the riots started happening. there was the chance to listen and take action when peaceful protests were happening, but nothing changed
“there’s a better way to do this make it peaceful” like the media isn’t filled with a peaceful crowd to be eventually attacked by tear gas and rubber bullets
you got this country’s independence off of revolution and you got your eight hour workdays and your sufferage and rights off of protests and riots and such. riots are how action happens, even as the causes turn more modern
and this IS something to be rioting about this IS something that is worth being angry and needing action taken for. black lives matter. and don’t you come at me with the “all lives matter” thing because i never remember the movement of black lives matter putting down other lives
because we still have black lives being killed for no reason. sitting in their houses. being wrongly accused of forgery. buying food. even in my hometown, stephon clark holding a phone. we’ve become so desensitized to constant bad media news that-
-some of you still have the AUDACITY to say that it’s no big deal and happens all the time. does it happen a lot? of course. but it shouldn’t. do you just wanna stand back and claim your life is being threatened because we’re focusing on the issue of black ones being in danger?
do you want to feel threatened by walking down the street, subject to brutality by the force who is supposed to protect? no? do you not want to take action so others do not have to live this future in the united states where we’ve had this issue for so long? speak up.
