What ppl don't understand is that these are life and death situations for the cops. If the guy had a gun tucked in his belt behind back, he could flash it out and the cop could be dead in a literal heartbeat, and there are no second chances. 1 cop is shot dead every week in US. https://twitter.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1266715785923309569
People also don't know the back story. They might have been responding to call where someone had been identified (rightly or wrongly) as in possession of a gun. These situations do not exist in a vacuum. You can't judge ppl in life and death situations from comfort of your couch.
This case was held up as one of the worst instances of cold blooded murder by cops. The cop made a mistake, but in the moment the cop feared the guy was about to pull a gun from under his belt behind his back. He had a small fraction of one second to decide what to do.
