I gotta say...rip. bts/other celebrities staying quiet (in regards to other things as well, such as the mixtape) makes me feel a bit...sad? It really amplifies how...we're really worlds apart from all these sheltered celebrities who have a big voice but may choose not to use it.
man i'm just sad sob no one's saying i can't rt fandom stuff but i feel so put off by just seeing how...unaffected people there are when racism is something that is so worldwide. The gap feels bigger than ever.
I feel like i see a photo or a gif, and i'll see one of the boys smiling and i feel fond for a bit and happy or relaxed for a moment but then it just ends up feeling so shallow in the moment /:
I love them bfjssskp I do. But I'm just sad and my heart feels heavy. /:
I was genuinely looking forward to festa ever since last year but everything is so ): i feel like i'll still enjoy whatever they put out, but there's going to be a heavy aftertaste of bitterness that will just grow stronger if they choose to never say anything at all sob
I'm not in the mood to argue about this. I'm not saying they aren't good guys. They speak up about a LOT of things that most celebs, especially in sk, don't talk about. They're very candid with us in terms of discussing things that can be considered taboo.
ot7 are VERY involved in charities and donations all year round without ever drawing attention to themselves. They hold themselves accountable for things most celebs don't even think of. They've been shouldering many responsibilities since a very young age and half of them areă…ˇ
Younger than me and I have so, so much admiration and respect for them. Where I can clam up or be irritable or lash out or react negatively in situations, they cannot (under a public lens). They carry responsibilities they never asked for because of the weight of their
Fame and popularity, and I respect them a LOT for it. That is literally the reason I stan them and adore them.

But racism is NOT limited to just USA. What is happening rn is NOT limited to just USA.
I'm not saying they should make grand speeches or involve themselves or speak over black voices. But god knows if they even just rted a BLM tweet from one of their mutuals, it would bring so much awareness, and that's all anyone really wants.
Honestly tho fnsmak that being said, idt anyone should feel guilty for enjoying whatever is put forward for festa anyway /: all the support for BLM and outrage is something that should be on-going your entire life.
This isn't just a trendy week of mourning and showing support, this needs to be a lifestyle. People need to be supportive and defend bpoc and nbpoc ALL the time. This is NOT a trend.
You can enjoy things in your daily life and still be upset over how prevalent racism is.
And no one should guilt anyone for enjoying fandom related stuff at this time because what's happening now has happened for years, decades and centuries. It's not new. So continue living your life, but remember to be supportive always and not just because of a so-called trend.
Also icb I have to explain this sigh but I am Not saying bts should be held accountable for anything. this is NOT their battle to fight. And living outside of the west, i can safely say that it's unlikely ppl here know the extent of what's happening in the US rn unlessă…ˇ
They are spending time on twt and instagram. My family was unaware of it until I told them and then we turned on CNN and caught up. But believe me, the GP in most asian countries will not be aware of the extent of the issue, the outrage and the anger. And that's fair.
I do not expect bts to know everything about all of this, unless they're glued to twitter. And even then, most of these tweets are in english and the boys are NOT fluent, aside from one. Not to mention that they have expressed several times, a fear of saying the wrong thingă…ˇ
While speaking out. So I am not someone who is going to be angry or not understand or be mad if they don't speak up. What I AM saying though, is that moments like this just emphasize the HUGE gap between the celebrity world and ours and it just feels Odd.
I felt the same seeing rich white american celebs crying over the pandemic and lockdown when so many ppl had no access to masks, security, hygiene or anything. THAT is what I mean. That the gap sometimes feels too wide and too heavy.
It is Not ot7's job to educate the world on racism. But would an rt from them help bring more awareness? Hell yeah. And people are just angry and upset rn. Let people feel sad about this. No one is turning against ot7 bc of this. They're good guys and this won't change that.
Remember. It. Is. Not. Their. Job. To educate people on racism. BTS themselves have faced racism for being asian. They have looked uncomfortable. They know racism. Chances are they don't know what to say about any of this.
But MOST of all, the actual issue is that media in countries outside of USA is NOT covering this. Most people do not know about all of this unless they engage with this side of twitter or instagram.
I am not saying I have expectations from bts or that I will be angry if they do not speak up. But I would love them so much more if they did, and that's the thing.
Also would like to mention that I didn't even feel some type of way about this until an hour ago. I had no expectations from bts bc this is not their job. I just felt sad suddenly bc I was scrolling the tl and like.
Came across 3 tweets this order

- police brutality against arabs in france
- a super cute gif of ot7
- a tweet about a teenager being shot, the pregnant woman suffering a miscarriage, children being maced

And it just felt So damn Shallow to be feeling happy over a bts gif.
And it just felt so...detached from reality and that is what made me sad sob knowing people cannot escape the abuse and yet knowing there are so many ppl with big voices who have the luxury of staying quiet.
That being said dnsnakam genuinely, pls do not guilt anyone for enjoying the content that will be put out in coming days. The BLM movement is not something that's temporary. And try not to hate or feel angered with the boys either. /: I would love it if they spoke up but
I also don't think anyone should hold high expectations. This really is Not their responsibility, I feel, but I would love to see them be aware of the power of their voices. /:
I've wished the same when it comes to migrant crises, refugees, the rohingya crisis & uyghur muslims.
I've been just as upset for all of these issues and me saying I'd love to see an rt does not make me an anti lmao nor does it mean i'm criticising them. That being said, even if I was, who cares? We all deserve criticism. No one is perfect.
Honestly lmao one more thing. If BTS DID speak up, keep in mind that maybe it might not be well received after the mixtape issue. Some ppl may choose to latch onto the song and claim that bts are being ingenuine. They will be criticised whether they speak up or not.
That being said, this is still not their battle to fight and this is still not their responsibility, but my god, let people be a bit upset about it. Times are rough, people are strained. And to the near hundred ppl unfollowing me for this, please try to be more understanding.
